Remain in France Together started after the 2016 EU referendum.

A group of UK nationals living in France, seeing that the result would affect their futures, started the Facebook group to provide each other with support, information and consolation.

​

It's no secret that we are in the 48% who voted to Remain in the EU.

​

Over the past 6+ years we have attended many marches and demonstrations both in the UK and France. We've met colleagues working in similar groups in Spain, Italy and Germany.

​

Many of our members and our admin team have lived in France for years, making their homes here decades ago. Others had only recently moved or did so after the result. Each of us worried to varying degrees about what the vote would mean to us.

​

In coming together, either as members of the Facebook group or in real life at the marches and demonstrations, RIFT has provided a place to find support and kinship.
